Ko Pha Ngan is an island in southeast Thailand that’s renowned for its monthly Full Moon Party. I have put this in the Thailand Best beaches category is due to its huge popularity among expats and backpackers. This boisterous night-long celebration, which is tied to the lunar calendar, draws revelers to its south eastern peninsula, Haad Rin. Most festivities center on Sunrise Beach, whose beach bungalows attract a backpacker crowd. On the north coast lie quieter, white-sand beaches including Hat Khuat and Hat Thian.
Also called “Haad Khuat”, one of the most isolated beaches on the island, on the north coast accessible by long tail boat from Chalok Lam (150 baht/person). Very relaxed quiet beach with few accommodations but very reasonable prices (from 250-300 baht/bungalow). Nice long and wide soft white sand beach and good clean water for swimming even during dry season. Uniqueness shape (Bottle) makes it a Thailand best beaches category.
Scenic area on the northeastern part of the island that includes the neighboring beach resorts of Ao Thong Nai Pan Yai and Ao Thong Nai Pan Noi, twin bays with two fantastic beaches. Thong Nai Pan Yai is the bigger one. The area caters to families with children, and singles and couples who are looking for nice beach
Is the Island’s “capital” and main ferry port. Night markets in Thailand is something special, you should go see by yourself! Thai people simply love night markets, you can by pretty much everything there.
Thong Sala night market is a food market mostly. When you are there, don’t forget to try seafood, it is mouthwatering!!
Mae Haat is the place where 2 currents meet. It makes quite the eye candy to see two different shades of water separated by a small strip of land, on which at high tide turns into a natural bridge. At low tide, the place feels even more unique as you can literally walk on water.
Mae Haat is located on the North of the island, and I think you will love it as much as I did!
It is quite hidden and not touristic (that was probably what I liked the most about it!). It is quiet and serene, the water is really warm and the sand is really soft.
Chaloklum bay is a nice little fishing village, no drunken tourists or banging music – you have that emerald water for yourself only!
Herbal Sauna Baan Tai – For unusual things to do, one interesting place that I have also found through recommendation was a Herbal Sauna Baan Tai.
It is located here, right near the biggest tree of the island. And I don’t mean just a big tree. This thing has been there for centuries, and it’s more than 14 meters (42 feet) in diameter. If that doesn’t mean anything to you, just imagine it’s wider than an average car!

Thailand’s second largest island (After Phuket), lies in the Gulf of Thailand off the east coast of the Kra Isthmus. This beach is I would say is for spas and nightlife. It’s known for its palm-fringed beaches, coconut groves and dense, mountainous rain forest, plus luxury resorts and posh spas. The landmark 12m-tall golden Big Buddha statue at Wat Phra Yai Temple is located on a tiny island connected to Ko Samui by a causeway.
There are around nine beaches around Koh Sumai namely Lamai Beach, Chaweng Noi Beach, Mu Ko Ang Thong National Park, Choeng Mon Beach, Thong Takhian Beach (Silver Beach), Bang Po Beach, Thong Nai Pan Yai Beach, Mae Haad Beach, Haad Yao Beach. There is also Fisherman’s Village.
It is an island in Thailand and forms part of the Chumphon Archipelago on the western shore of the Gulf of Thailand. Koh Tao is located on the east side of the Surat Thani coastline with two neighboring islands, Koh Phangan and Koh Samui. It covers an area of about 21 km. Administratively it forms a district of Surat Thani Province.
The island’s natural beauty both above and below the water, with its stunning coral reefs and abundant marine life in clear, warm water, bring thousands of visitors here each year making it an unforgettable destination for divers.
Various dive locations around Ko Tao are:
Koh Chang, known also as ‘Elephant Island’ named because of its elephant shaped headland. It has everything, beautiful pristine jungle, turquoise waters, deserted tiny islands nearby, diving and snorkeling sites, waterfalls, fishermen villages, elephant rides. With an area covering approximately 429 square kilometers, 70% of Koh Chang is covered in rain forests, mountains and beaches. Koh Chang the largest and most popular of the islands in eastern Thailand.
The longest beach on the island and cut in three by a large estuary in the center of the beach and a much smaller one near the south. Here you’ll find accommodation mostly in larger resorts.
The south end of the beach is home to some of the best resorts on the island Emerald Cove Resort, Centrara Tropicana and The Dewa.
Also a beach is also a beach of two halves. The south having by far the best stretch of sand.
But the northern have having three of the islands best resorts adjacent to each other – The Chill, Gajapuri Resort and AWA Resort.
The closest to the ferry piers and by far the most touristy beach on the island. Everything you need is within easy walking distance of your resort.
Accommodation is mostly 2-3 star resorts on the beach, the exceptions being KC Grande Resort and Kacha Resort.
It is a beautiful tropical island in Thailand with white sands and stunning clear blue water. It’s the perfect place for a relaxing holiday. Koh Mak is located in the National Marine Park in Eastern Thailand and is the biggest privately owned island in Thailand.
There is plenty to see on Koh Mak with its 10,000 palm trees, a Buddhist temple, tree fishing villages, a health center, a primary school, over 20 resorts, a few shops and restaurants. It also features in top ten beaches in the world list of the British newspaper the Sunday Times.
