I have been going to movies for a long time. However, after stumbling upon the grandeur cinema experience Bangkok Luxury Theaters has to offer, I am a bit dumbstruck. The cost is high but the experience is worth it. The tickets are anywhere from 300-3000THB that is equal to Rs. 600-6000. Look at the pictures below and the experience these cinemas have to offer. I will let you explore or I will recommend that you go to all.

Embassy Diplomat Screen – Bangkok Luxury Theaters

Embassy Diplomat has to be the poshest cinema I have ever seen and that is why its no.1 in the Bangkok Luxury Theaters. They have categories of seats like Loft Bed, Large Day Bed, Day Bed, and cocoon. They also have five halls. Hall 1 and 3 have the most luxury seats. Hall 2, 4 and 5 have the most comfortable seats. Combo seats have discounts.

The cocoon category seats will cost you at 1200THB for a single seat and 1800-2400THB for double seats. These seats are in Hall no.2, 4 and 5. Hall 1 and 3 tickets cost you 2800THB for a couple. I have to say they have the best website among all the theaters.

Enigma at Paragon Cineplex

The Enigma Theatre at Paragon Cineplex is among the most expensive, the most elite and the fanciest cinemas in the whole of Bangkok.

Theater staff will start you off in the VIP lounge with a complimentary glass of booze. Choices include wine (Jacob’s Creek), cocktails, or whiskey (Chivas). Then there are some sizable appetizers, with a choice of pasta, savory crepes, dessert or a vegetarian option.

If a normal movie theater is equivalent to flying economy class in a humongous airplane, the analogy works even better here, since Bangkok Airways took over the Nokia Silver Screen and renamed it the ‘Blue Ribbon Screen’. The ticket even includes a 15-minute foot massage.

The adjustable seats with reclining armchairs can go completely horizontal, and with pillows and blankets, it is just like watching a movie from your bed at home, just don’t fall asleep in the comfort of your bed.

Scala Theatre – Bangkok Luxury Theaters

Bangkok movie theaters are certainly keeping up with the city’s modern vibe. Each new cinema seems to be more updated and fancy than the last; however, this is not the case with Scala Theatre.

If you want a cinema trip with a slice of history then check of the Scala in Siam Square. This cinema was built in the 60s and they have kept the beautiful art deco architecture in perfect nick. The cheery chappy in a yellow blazer and bowtie has been there since it opened. Just because the experience is vintage it does not mean the screen is, the Scala has kept their audiovisual equipment up to date.

The cinema is located just five minutes’ walk from the BTS station at Siam. Come down the stairs on the opposite side of the road to Paragon and head towards Siam Square Soi 1. From the outside, the cinema looks old-world, there are no digital displays here, the name of the film is displayed in red letters, each put up by hand. The Scala cinema is a rarity in Thailand, one of the last movie theaters from times gone by still standing.
