According to various sources on the internet `travelling alone’ is called solo travelling. Well, I don’t think so! I feel the world travels with you. That’s what I am talking about; you have to understand the true meaning of solo travelling. Solo travelling is learning life. It’s about creating amazing travel stories. Moreover, it’s about knowing and developing your inner self.

Since you make all the decisions and yes, you have to make a lot of decisions, you become a problem solver. There would be nobody to tell you how to do things. Solo travel teaches you survival skills. It develops your financial skills and financial planning. Solo travel can be soul-searching and a spiritual experience. Solo Travelling means to be "alone" without being "lonely"

Have you heard of digital nomads? It’s the latest craze! Picture this: sandy beaches, swaying palm trees, and you, laptop in hand, getting work done. That’s the beauty of solo travel – it’s not just for backpackers. There are so many ways to do it! For me, travelling solo helped me focus. No distractions, just me, my business idea, and a beautiful location. My mind was free to come up with a plan, and my laptop was my partner in crime.

Don’t worry if you’re an introvert, there’s no wrong way to solo travel. You can be as social or as selective as you want. Want to chat with locals or fellow travellers? Go ahead! Would you rather keep things quiet and enjoy the scenery? No problem! The best part is, that you’re free to call the shots. You can explore on your terms, see what you want when you want, and for however long you want. Solo travel is all about being true to yourself and embracing your sense of adventure!

How to become a Solo Traveller?

What is Solo Travelling?

The experience of solo travel starts from home. As a first-time solo traveller, you must do your homework. The knowledge you acquire during research prepares you for your first solo travel. Even seasoned solo travellers will always gather information before they explore a new location. Learn about the place before you go. You can do this easily by spending an hour every day. Solo travellers around the world will tell you this – PREPARE! The preparation should not be restricted to just finding of best places to see. You should know about local transport such as a bus, train, metro or taxi. You can save a lot of money on transport like this. A taxi should be the last option to go anywhere. I have done a detailed blog on how to save money on transport while solo travelling.

As per reports, solo travellers’ average age is 35 years. Most of these travellers are working professionals. My point is who doesn’t want to save money? The difference between a solo traveller and a tourist is that a solo traveller is more learned. A solo traveller is not a touristy person, he knows how travel works. You know how much a taxi costs, you know offbeat attractions and solo travellers also know how to book a hotel with the best location.

Being a foodie also saves a lot of money. If you can eat local food at a non-touristy restaurant, by the end of travel you would have some extra cash in hand. If you are looking to eat your home country’s food, like Indian food, it will always be expensive. I have done a full blog on how to save on food while travelling solo.

Should you make an Itinerary?

Listen up, fellow solo travellers! While it’s a great idea to have a rough idea of your travel plan, don’t get too bogged down with an itinerary. The real joy of solo travel is letting your wanderlust guide you. If you stumble across a hidden gem, embrace the freedom to explore it! Unlike when you’re part of a group with a rigid itinerary, you’re not tied to someone else’s schedule. You can soak up the sights at your own pace, without feeling rushed or pressured.

If you’re feeling daunted or unsure about going it alone, fear not! You can join our `Solo Travellers Hub’ – a community of like-minded adventurers who share tips, stories, and advice. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or a first-time solo traveller, you’ll find a wealth of knowledge and inspiration to help you on your journey.
