You have been sitting home since Covid-19 stopped all travel. This blog will refresh your memory when you restart travel again. This blog will also prepare first-time travelers for a better journey experience. There are Covid-19 formalities which are going to be the `New Visa’ formalities. Even if you have a visa and don’t have insurance covering Covid-19 you will be denied entry.

Also, if you have not taken the Covid-19 Shot you have to go into quarantine for 7-14 days. The number of days varies from country to country. This quarantine cost will be borne by you. So take that Covid-19 Shot before you go. This blog will cover flight booking, airport, and more tips for a smoother journey.

Money Matter

  • Let’s say you are going to Thailand, convert some money to Thai Baht. The rest of the money should be in US Dollars.
  • Note, US Dollars are the most trusted currency in the world. You can exchange them anywhere.
  • While traveling make a budget in your mind and carry the same amount in local currency with you. As a backup keep $100, you can exchange it anywhere.
  • Don't put all your money in one place. Scatter around your pockets, luggage, shoes, etc.
  • Also, don’t put your money into a money belt. It’s like putting a beacon on the money for the thieves.

Exchanging you money

  • It is better to exchange your money from your home town.
  • Always take the receipt of the money. Though it is not checked it is a good travel habit. If you are carrying large sums of money then it is mandatory.
  • Exchange money from foreign exchange agents they give a better exchange rate. Never go to the bank, they are the worst.
  • While abroad, never exchange money at the airport they will never give you good exchange rates.
  • A $100 will give you a better exchange rate. If you give `change' you will get less exchange value.

Debit and Credit Cards

  • Carry all your debit cards and credit cards. Sometimes they do get blocked by your bank. Sometimes some banks don’t accept certain cards.
  • It is also wise to inform your bank that you are traveling internationally. This way your card will not get blocked.
  • Activate all cards for international usage. You have to do this manually, either by calling the bank or doing through net banking.
  • Set `limit’ for the cards for pin-free transactions. Additionally, you can set the per-day withdrawal limit. Setting limits becomes very easy if you are using online banking.
  • Check if your credit card offers you lounge access.
