That year 2012 it was already one year after my divorce that is where I thought let me go on a vacation. However, little did I know that this travel would be my first solo travel? I called some friends and told them about the plan. Three of them confirmed. I booked my tickets three months in advance. As the date of departure came nearer the excuses of my friends also started coming, but I had made up my mind. I did my hotel reservation one month in advance through agoda.com and got an excellent deal.
I have already paid up for the air tickets and the hotel. I find this way better, spending money in installments. At the time of travel, all I needed was the travel money. Since I was traveling, alone I thought let’s go bag packing. My bag had 16 clothing items including undergarments and two pairs of shoes.
The airport was easy in, as I had no check-in luggage. The out, however, was long because of the long queue at the Suvarnabhumi Airport. Even then, I saved almost 45 min. as I had prepared by visa document from home. A downloaded Visa form, one photo, return tickets with a photocopy of my stay at Bangkok – The Ambassador Hotel and the Whitehouse Condotel at Pattaya. Took a cab got ripped for THB500 (should have been THB250), but the fault was mine. I had done my homework to go by Sky Train. The 3Hrs wait at the airport made me cranky.
The Club Climax was in the basement of the Ambassador Hotel (wink). I was later surprised to find Indian Cuisine on the breakfast menu. Since I was early, I asked for an early check-in with extra sugar. It paid off after 15 minutes wait. She gave me the room and an upgrade for THB200 extra, which I was happy to pay.
Checked out Terminal 21, the Emporium Mall and for the love of it to MBK Mall. I had downloaded the map of Sukhumvit road; so I knew exactly where the nearest massage shops were.
It had all the nightclubs, soapy massage, malls marked, which made my two days stay in Bangkok very easy.
Tony’s disco was my last night out. My fellow Indians, especially from Punjab, know that they play Punjabi music.
From the Pattaya, bus stop took a direct bus to Suvarnabhumi Airport. Discussed my business idea with an Australian person named Dave; he was excited to work with me (never did). Had my last drink with him on the bus which I have mixed in coke (I call them Medi-mix).
