Phuket is always the first recommendation for an Indian Destination Wedding on the beach. The resort properties are very romantic and even offer private beaches. Some properties even have secluded beaches for total privacy. However, these beaches are suitable for limited gathering. Some of the resorts even offer packages for small weddings for 5-10 people. The world-class resorts also offer great food to suit the Indian palate. Most of the hotel properties allow outside vendors and are flexible to work with Indian chefs brought from home. If you choose Phuket a beach wedding is a must. The beach and nature gel so well with the resort that even a selective decoration creates wonders. Cons: You are nowhere near the beach. The nearest beach is Pattaya which is 824 km from Chiang Mai. You do have a Chiang Mai Airport (CNX) and you could fly to Pattaya or Phuket. They have a direct flight from Chiang Mai airport.
Thailand is promoting Hua Hin as the new star attraction in Thailand Tourism. It was known by few as a peaceful getaway from Pattaya Nightlife. But for Bangkok people, it is a weekend getaway place. It takes around three to three and a half hours to reach from Bangkok airport. From Pattaya it is even better; there is a ferry that takes two hours to reach Hua Hin. The connectivity to Hua Hin is pretty good except for the train you have all modes of transport to reach. It has its own International Airport (HHQ) but it has no direct flights from other countries.
The Indian Destination Wedding scene has already caught up with wedding planners in Hua Hin. There are beach resorts available that cater to Indian weddings. There are properties that can host up to 500 guests. Whether it is Hindu, Sikh, Marwari, and Gujarati the Hua Hin hospitality industry has the answer. Since Pattaya is nearby I would recommend a one or two-night stay in Pattaya for Bachelor and Hen Party and the main event in Hua Hin.

Koh Samui is the second-largest island after Phuket. Yes, all destination weddings will be on the beach. To top it all some resorts offer private beaches and booking of the full resorts if you want to make your wedding super private. There are plenty of water sports activities to do before you take the actual dip at the wedding. The island offers five stars to super-luxury resorts to choose from.
Koh Samui has a privately owned airport (USM). There are no direct flights to Koh Samui from other countries. You can land in Bangkok or Phuket to take the direct flight to Koh Samui. The flights from these two locations are limited. However, you can get down at Surat Thani Airport (URT) which has more flight options, and then take a ferry to Koh Samui. The ferry takes one and a half hours to reach. If you are a large group the best way to travel and save money is to come by train. Yes, it will be fun as it is an overnight journey and you can have a family bonding. The trains are clean and filled with modern amenities. The train will drop you at Surat Thani Station and from there take a ferry to reach the island.
Cons: You are stuck on an island but who is complaining!
Krabi is bang opposite Phuket. Off-course the distance between the two is ninety minutes via sea on a speedboat. Phuket has a vibrant nightlife; Krabi, on the other hand, is more of romantic walks on the beach with light music in the pubs. Krabi is said to be the honeymooner’s paradise then why not get married there and honeymoon can be a short walk from there. If you look at the map Phuket, Krabi, and Koh Samui make a love triangle.
The other attraction in Krabi is the natural hot spring. The water here comes from thermal springs, originating deep underground in volcanic chambers. Taking a dip before the wedding will definitely rejuvenate you. Also, there is an emerald pool nearby, and yes the color of the water is emerald blue, this would be dip number two. The hotel properties are all beach properties and are world-class.
Cons: The numbers of properties are few but they are capable of handling Indian Wedding themes.
