Top Ten Pattaya Afternoon Fun

आप इस ब्लॉग का अंग्रेजी संस्करण यहां पढ़ सकते हैं

Pattaya being a beach city brings freshness which Bangkok cannot give. Beach is free of cost. You can lie down under a beach umbrella. Have a beer or coconut water and relax. I have always slept under the beach umbrellas; it is very refreshing and gives a feel of a holiday. Just opposite the beach, there are malls, beer bars, massage shops, Seven-Elevens and everything you desire. You don’t have to go too far for anything. For those who don’t mind traveling a bit, Pattaya has a lot of tourist spots. These places too are not very hectic to reach. The length of these tours is not more than half a day. Here is a list of top ten Pattaya afternoon fun.

Massages

Foot Massage, Full Body Massage, Soapy Massage

The foot massage is a must for every traveler. It is as cheap as 150 THB for one hour. You should also try a full oil body. It starts at 200 THB for one hour. You can go with your family too. It is also suitable for young at heart. The other massage which is called a `Soapy Massage’ is one of a kind in the world. However, it is suitable for men and singles. The massage starts from 2000 THB and goes as high as 10,000 THB. The duration of the massage is 90 minutes. You can read the details here.

Beer Bars

Hostess Bars

There are more than 2000 bars in Pattaya. Each bar has its uniqueness. I have spoken with a lot of people and each one has one favorite bar where they hang out in the afternoons. Some even tucked away far off from the beach road. As I said earlier there are at least 300-400 bars just opposite the beach. Most of the bars are also called hostess bars. In these bars you can get a female company by buying her a drink. She will sit with you till the time you are buying her drinks. One thing can lead to another; if you are single go for it.

The Beach

You can spend the entire day and relax here. You can sit on the side of the beach or lie under the beach umbrella. They charge 200 THB for a full day. You can get a beer, coconut water, and any other cold drinks from the vendors. Do try the Thai cold coffee here. There are hawkers selling fruits, seafood, copies of watches, etc. You can buy from seven-eleven shops which are opposite the beach. This way you can save money too. For families, there are water sport activities. You can go para-sailing, banana boat ride, water scooter, etc.

Pattaya Pool Parties
The Adventure Island

Coral Island

It is one tourist activity which is part of every travel package. It is a must for the first time traveler. There are a lot of water sports activities you can do at the coral island. The one thing you should know is each activity costs you 1000THB. This is not declared earlier by any agent. So do carry money with you. It is a half-day activity which includes lunch. You can relax, enjoy and do water sports here.

Jomtien Beach

Only 3 km down Pattaya Beach, Jomtien is highly recommended to those who seek a quieter resort, where the golden sand, bright sun, and clear blue sea are always pleased to welcome all vacationers. Relax on a beach lined with coconut palm trees, swim, play and so much more. These Pattaya Beaches are also a favorite spot for water sports such as windsurfing and jet skiing. Jomtien is also an excellent place to take the whole family, as it has an amusement playground located at the very northern end of the beach.

Soi 6 (Soi Yodsak)

Soi 6 is between beach road and second road.  This soi (lane) is a men paradise. This is a one way street with 100 beer bars.  Prices are very reasonable at 80-95 Baht for beer all day.  Each bar has 10-20 hostesses luring you in the bar for a drink and a shower.  So that makes 1000-1500 girls, a true boy’s paradise. All bars have a theme too, some girls are dressed as schoolgirls some like nurses and some like air hostesses. The life starts from 1:00 PM onwards and goes till midnight. This place is not for families they should not even go to take a look.

Pattaya Street Food

There are very few food karts available in the day. However, restaurants are plenty to discover. There are around 90 Indian restaurants where you can find home food. But the food is very expensive, one roti cost Rs.100. You should also try Thai food; the seafood is very fresh. The mango sticky rice with mango is a must-try. I have listed the top five Thai restaurants here. Do not forget to try the food court at the Central Festival Mall which is below the Hilton hotel. They even have an amazing bakery section.

Cartoon Network Amazone Waterpark

Suitable for all

The world’s favorite kids’ channel brings guests the ultimate in family entertainment at Cartoon Network Amazone, the world’s first Cartoon Network themed water park.

When it comes to dining, Cartoon Network Amazone turns an ordinary meal into a culinary adventure at Foodville and Toonalicious, the world’s first Cartoon Network-themed rooftop restaurant. When the sun falls below the horizon, live shows dazzle up the evening with acrobats and digital light displays marking a perfect finale to an amazing family day out.

It is two hours from Bangkok and 20 minutes from Pattaya.

Tourist Spots

There are a lot of tourist spots you can go to during the day.

  • Sanctuary of Truth
  • Ocean World
  • Noong Nooch Garden
  • Mini Siam
  • Dolphin Show
  • Art In Paradise
  • Teddy Bear Museum
  • Big Buddha Hill

These are a few attractions which you should not miss. More details on other attractions in Pattaya are here.

Floating Market of Pattaya

What to do in Pattaya in the afternoon…Go to this amazing market. If you are a foodie like me you will enjoy this place.

Covering an area of 100,000sqm, the Four Regions Floating Market is separated into four sections – each representing and selling items from the four major parts of Thailand (north, northeast, central and south). Expect to find many eateries, fruit stalls, souvenir shops, and some art galleries. There is also a cultural show every afternoon.

The 350 million baht market has over 114 shops and water vendors selling authentic Thai food, desserts, and specialties from all over the kingdom. For a floating market experience, hire a man-powered boat to get around and discover the richness of the surrounding Thai architecture and riverside life. Typically, the boat is big enough for four people and can be hired for a small fee for around 30 minutes.

  • Opening Hours: 10:00 – 23:00
  • Location: 451/304 Sukhumvit Road, Jomtien
